Volunteer in Guatemala
AIDE
offers a unique experience in Guatemala for all participants. During
your stay you will be placed with a host family and participate in
the volunteer project of your choice. We offer many volunteer
placements throughout the country yet mostly concentrated in
Antigua. Our staff recently took a trip to the country to visit the
wonderful sights and to volunteer for one of the projects
themselves! Come experience Guatemala like a native!
Eligibility:
- At least 18 years old
- Possess an intermediate level of Spanish
- Eligible to receive a tourist visa to Guatemala
Length of program: 2 week – 12 months, although 1 week Group
programs can be customized to your needs.
Volunteer Projects:
Below is a brief sample of the kinds of projects we work with in
Guatemala, and a few sample group itineraries. If you are interested
in volunteering in an area you don’t see below, please consult your
AIDE coordinator. We do our best to accommodate all requests.
Community/ Education Projects
- Provide
support to children, community residents, the elderly and disabled
- Provide English lessons
Conservation/ Animal Rescue
- Jungle Wildlife Rescue Centre
- Beach Wildlife Rescue Centre
